They messaged me and said they are looking forward to Brock coming and they will keep an eye out for him. They told us he will be well taken care of when he gets there. I can not express how much that short note meant to Tonya and I. Brock is a strong person and capable of taking care of himself, but as first time missionary mom and dad, we don't know what to expect and we feel a real need to help get him prepared. It was nice to open the channels of communication with someone who is on the ground in the Philippines. Everyday we have new questions and they have already answered several of them.
On Sunday, we received an email from Elder and Sister Sinema describing the life style and interesting points about the mission. They made suggestions on shoes and clothing, described the church meetings, Language and other things that will go along way to help us prepare.
They suggested we follow President Marlo Lopez which we promptly did. He has posted pics of the missionaries as they have come together for zone conferences. He has also posted pictures of foods they are eating. It is so interesting and exciting to imagine the life my son will be living over the next 2 years.
